Comparing masks: 1 layer of duchess satin vs 6 layers of satin from bedding with a cotton outer

OK - so two masks:
  1. One 7 layer mask (6 satin from a bedding set purchased off amazon and cut up, and one 400-thread cotton outer (grey in this pic).
  2. A single layer Duchess satin mask (white in this pic).
Both have the plastic retainer to force cupping of the fabric so that it doesn't pull onto your nostrils/lips.

Experience report

The seven layer mask is MUCH MORE BREATHABLE. Counter intuitive for sure, but it is what it is. I'd go as far as saying the single layer Duchess satin mask is a suffocation device for people without Olympic-class lungs. As mentioned before I've worn the seven layer mask out and about many times.
