Me in 7 layer mask after 10 mins brisk walk to supermarket

 

So I wore this for a trip to the supermarket.  The queue/line took 50 mins, and my shopping in the store was 30 mins. The walk to and from the store was 10 mins. Back was harder with two carrier bags.

Satin being polyester, it didn't get wet from exhaled breath. The mask also didn't slip despite being held on but two straps not four. The seal remained good, and with the retainer it is quite "breathable".

For a cloth-only mask the filtering is extreme - way more than I'd need for a supermarket trip where social distancing is also enforced. Enough for you to attend a packed disco where everyone else has COVID-19? Probably not!

How long could year wear it? Well, it's not getting wet so maybe many hours. You wouldn't want to though it is a relief to take it off after an hour and a quarter. If I needed to wear a mask like for eight hours, it would need to be testd some more before saying whether that was possible. You certainly want to hand-wash it and dry it overnight if you need to wear it the next day.
