Making straps for the Ragmask Max

I usually make straps that are for layers of whatever SBPP i am working with. That keeps the cut edges on the inside (away from skin).

These are two layer. The cut edge could touch the skin. This is an experiment in the best stitch for that.  Each of these is 1m long. It was about 2cm wide before folding. I didn't measure that, just freehanded. Indeed, you don't even have to snip just push the V of the little scissors you are using up in the direction you want to go:

Three types of zig-zag stitch, and one long-stitch straight line.

OK, so there were all about the same in stretchiness. You want that as you're tying a bow and you want I little bit of "give" as you're moving your head around. I have a thread that is polyester not cotton which is less likely to snap while sewing and in use.

The straight line is fastest to sew. Many would optimize their production-line for that alone.

That cut edge against your skin? For occasional use, I don't think this is going to be a problem. For situations where the owner would wear it for an eight hour shift, maybe you want to take the extra time to make the double folded strap that hides the cut edges on the inside. That's maybe 50% more time consuming to sew.
